Procurement Specialist Job Description

Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to provide efficient and effective procurement management services, ensuring a reliable, timely, and cost-effective supply of critical chemicals, solvents, parts, and other items required for our technology and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Chemists, hardware engineers, operations specialists, management, technicians, and other stakeholders to maintain, improve, optimize, and support supplies, inventories, and operational processes.
  • Establish and run highly effective supply chain operations, think strategically about suppliers and supply agreements, and negotiate contracts and items.
  • Ensure smooth business operation by sourcing and delivering requested materials, taking on broad tasks as necessary for the continuity of operations.
  • Work with the Supply Chain Manager to establish a world-class supply chain and ensure the success of the overall business.
  • Collaborate with finance to improve controls, quality, audits, and efficiency of processes.
  • Implement and continuously improve business-critical activities related to the supply chain with the Quality and Operations department.
  • Organize service contracts for equipment, ensuring price and quality are considered to reduce downtime.
  • Approve suppliers and maintain the approved supplier schedule for purchase of chemicals used in manufacture.
  • Develop effective and stage-appropriate processes for order requests, fulfillment, and delivery.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Logistics or equivalent topic/work experience.
  • At least five years of professional experience within a procurement/buying position in an industrial organization.
  • Experience of regulatory requirements (ISO, etc.), online ordering systems, stock control systems, Global Import/Export, and HRMC & Global Customs regulations.
  • Desirable knowledge of transporting dangerous goods management and Environment, Health, and Safety regulation and implementation.
  • Experience and track record in successfully negotiating quotes, contracts, and other agreements as they relate to supply chain.
