Position Overview

STAFF NURSE

We are seeking applications for the position of Staff Nurse within the Gynaecology and Maternity Departments at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a permanent role aimed at dedicated professionals who are passionate about enhancing patient care in both secondary and tertiary healthcare environments.

The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative team of NHS Gynaecologists and Clinical Academics from the University of Oxford, delivering both local and specialized services in areas such as Gynae-oncology, urogynaecology, reproductive medicine, and endometriosis. This role encompasses responsibilities across multiple hospital sites.

Additionally, the postholder will contribute to the maternity services, which provide comprehensive obstetric care to the local community, ensuring high-quality support for numerous women annually. The department also offers specialized services in fetal and maternal medicine, supported by a Level 3 neonatal unit.

Main Responsibilities

The Staff Nurse will be involved in:

  • Conducting general gynaecology clinics and outpatient procedures.
  • Participating in emergency gynaecology, including the provision of advice to the Early Pregnancy team during on-call duties.
  • Managing surgical lists primarily focused on minimal access surgery.
  • Providing inpatient care and participating in on-call rotations.
  • Assisting with C-section lists and antenatal clinics as part of the maternity team.
