About the Role

As a Reliability Maintenance Engineering Technician at Amazon, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. You will be responsible for maintaining a wide range of equipment and workspaces, upholding health and safety best practices, and collaborating with colleagues to prevent machine downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on site equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse, using your technical expertise to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Utilize the latest tools and technologies to maximize equipment effectiveness and minimize downtime.
  • Uphold all health and safety policies and practices, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their roles.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing best practices across multiple EU sites.
A Day in the Life

As an RME Technician, you will be based on-site, responding quickly to any machinery issues that arise. Your day will be filled with a range of tasks, including planned preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and collaborative work with colleagues to identify and implement long-term improvements.

You will work alongside senior colleagues, undertaking day-to-day maintenance tasks such as painting and plumbing, and liaising with contractors when external expertise is required. Your flexibility and adaptability will be essential in ensuring our sites are supported around the clock, allowing Amazon to deliver at the speed we're known for.

About the Team

The Reliability Maintenance Engineering team at Amazon is a technically-minded group of excellent team players, guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers, handling most aspects of Amazon's technical side.

From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing the general maintenance of a site, our team handles a wide range of tasks. We are committed to reducing downtime in Amazon's critical operations sites, ensuring customers receive their orders on time. We often work during early or late hours to carry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including night shifts.

Requirements
  • Served a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject.
  • Relevant experience as a qualified engineer, with a strong background in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
  • Advanced proficiency in the local language verbally and in writing.
