British Sign Language Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate British Sign Language (BSL) Teaching Assistant to join our team at a mainstream secondary school in Greenwich, London.

About the Role

The successful candidate will support students with hearing impairments to engage fully in lessons, facilitating communication through BSL and working closely with teaching staff and SENCO to implement effective strategies for supporting students' learning and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting inclusive learning by assisting students with hearing impairments
  • Facilitating communication through BSL
  • Providing individual support to students according to their needs
  • Collaborating with teaching staff and SENCO to implement effective strategies
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Certified proficiency in British Sign Language
  • Previous experience working with children or young adults
  • Enhanced DBS clearance
