About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in Croydon. As an aspiring Educational Psychologist, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with children, supporting their emotional, social, and academic development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or behavioural challenges
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Help students engage in classroom activities and develop positive learning habits
  • Support students' emotional, social, and academic development
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other staff to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Contribute to the observation and assessment of students, working with the school's SENCO to develop tailored strategies
  • Promote positive behaviour management and support students in regulating emotions
  • Foster strong relationships with parents and caregivers to ensure continuity of support at home and in school
Requirements
  • A degree in Psychology or a related field, or someone currently working towards becoming an Educational Psychologist
  • A genuine interest in supporting children with SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and behavioural difficulties
  • Previous experience working with children or young people (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with children
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training provided)
