This role presents an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate in 'Finance' or an individual with a relevant degree and some experience in a related field, who is eager to pursue an accountancy qualification, to become a part of our vibrant Finance team as a Finance Assistant.

Joining a prominent FTSE 100 company, you will support both online and retail operations, which encompass over 500 stores and a rapidly expanding network of third-party partners.

As a member of the Warehouse Finance team, you will be instrumental in supporting our exceptional warehousing and logistics operations.

In your capacity as a Finance Analyst within the Warehouse Stock Finance team, your primary responsibilities will include ensuring precise reporting and analysis of financial data concerning stock movements across all UK warehouses and international hubs. You will also collaborate closely with our third-party clients, addressing inquiries and providing stock-related analysis and information.

This is a full-time position (with hybrid working arrangements of three days in the office) based in South Elmsall, and you will receive support for your studies as well.

Key Responsibilities


• Actively manage warehouse stock control


• Foster strong relationships with third-party partners


• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on stock movements and shrinkage, highlighting stock losses and gains


• Monitor, identify, and investigate any areas of concern, liaising with warehousing teams, IT, and other Finance teams as necessary


• Track budget and forecast adherence, investigating any discrepancies


• Ensure financial accounting is accurate, enabling our third-party clients to make necessary financial provisions and adjustments


• Prepare and analyze Balance Sheet reconciliations, providing justifications for any exceptional items or unusual balances to minimize reconciliation points


• Address ad hoc queries from various stakeholders as required


• Respond to requests for ad hoc reports within specified deadlines

Minimum Qualifications


• Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) or a graduate willing to pursue further studies


• Proficient in IT, particularly Microsoft Excel


• Capable of analyzing and interpreting large volumes of data


• Exceptional attention to detail with an analytical mindset for problem-solving


• Strong communication and influencing abilities


• Enthusiastic and motivated with a genuine desire for personal development


• Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment


• Commercially aware with an understanding of core business processes
