Position Overview:
As an SEN Support Staff member, you will be instrumental in enhancing the learning and growth of students with special educational needs. Your responsibilities will include collaborating closely with educators and fellow support staff to foster an inclusive educational atmosphere, delivering tailored support, and assisting students in overcoming challenges in their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalized one-on-one and small group assistance to students with SEN, modifying instructional strategies to cater to their unique requirements.
  • Help implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and various support mechanisms.
  • Encourage students in developing their social, emotional, and academic competencies.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels appreciated and supported.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support personnel to ensure effective and cohesive student assistance.
  • Assist in classroom activities, including preparing educational materials and organizing resources.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to educators and families.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with students with SEN is preferred.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support or education (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, SEN diploma) is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive demeanor.
  • Capability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Dedication to fostering the educational and personal growth of students with SEN.

All pay rates quoted will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role in the future.
