Work Environment
This position is designed specifically for your growth as an Assistant Gardener. It is a fixed-term role that will equip you with the necessary skills and experience to pursue future Gardener positions. You will collaborate with a team of six, receiving comprehensive training and support as you learn the intricacies of maintaining and nurturing our beautiful gardens. Reporting directly to the Head Gardener, you will be an integral part of our gardening team.
Key Responsibilities
As an Assistant Gardener, your primary focus will be to uphold the high standards of our gardens. Your daily tasks will include:
- Assisting with the planting and upkeep of shrubs and flower borders
- Engaging in mulching, hedge trimming, and lawn maintenance
- Collaborating with fellow gardeners and volunteers
- Interacting with visitors, sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm for gardening
This role requires a practical mindset and a genuine passion for plants. You will encounter physically demanding tasks and utilize various gardening tools and machinery, with training provided to ensure your safety and proficiency.
