Join the dynamic team at Caramel London during an exciting phase of growth and innovation. This role is integral to our creative processes and involves close collaboration with the Production Manager, as well as the Design and Product Development Teams.

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in managing production technical packs, ensuring all data is accurately recorded in our systems, and maintaining meticulous records on our servers.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support for Garments

  • Assist the Design Team by providing clear technical briefs for suppliers, ensuring that all necessary information is accurately communicated for product development.
  • Verify that sizing increments and grading rules for both children's and women's apparel meet customer expectations, providing supporting evidence for measurements.
  • Utilize traditional pattern cutting knowledge to articulate the desired characteristics of fits and styles to suppliers.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop basic block patterns and samples, ensuring optimal fit during development sessions.
  • Effectively communicate with all stakeholders through Product Briefs, ensuring that technical details, construction changes, fit specifications, and safety/legal requirements are thoroughly documented.

Sample Development Management

  • Oversee the critical path, updating trackers from the design handover.
  • Coordinate Fit Sessions and revise tech packs for pre-production samples.
  • Ensure pre-production samples receive approval and are properly documented as per the Product Approval process.
  • Review test reports against established standards, discussing outcomes with suppliers to ensure commercial viability.
  • Advise on packaging and labeling to ensure adequate product protection.

Bulk Production Oversight

  • Confirm that production samples are approved and documented, ensuring proper reference samples are sent for delivery inspection.
  • Identify products needing special attention during inspections and schedule necessary checks.
  • Ensure sufficient packaging protection for transit and delivery, minimizing potential rework.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to establish commercial tolerances when discrepancies arise during bulk production.

Data Management and Administrative Support

  • Accurately input data related to product specifications, testing, and production timelines.
  • Maintain and update trackers and charts for easy access to current information.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical documents, including tech packs and approval forms.
  • Ensure proper filing of all documents, including fabric approvals and technical records.
  • Support the Production Manager with logistics, including packing lists and shipment documentation.
  • Help maintain an organized and tidy studio environment.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Fashion with knowledge of garment technology and grading.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of pattern cutting is preferred.
  • Experience in children's apparel is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage timelines effectively.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Familiarity with Zedonk is a plus.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach with a willingness to learn and embrace new challenges.
  • Hands-on experience and insight into product development and technical aspects of the fashion industry.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK without restrictions.
