Apprentice Building Surveyor

About the Role:
We are seeking an Apprentice Building/Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Robert Hurst Limited. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for managing the financial and commercial aspects of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage cost control and commercial management of M&E projects.
- Prepare, review, and update detailed cost plans and budgets.
- Conduct tender analysis and manage procurement processes.
- Assess, negotiate, and agree on valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Provide regular financial reporting and risk analysis for M&E packages.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and monitor project performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in quantity surveying, preferably on M&E projects.
- Strong knowledge of M&E systems and contracts (JCT, NEC, etc.).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam).
Desirable:
- MRICS or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience in both pre- and post-contract stages.
