Job Title: Sector Growth Officer, Low Carbon

Doncaster Council is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Business Doncaster team as a Sector Growth Officer, Low Carbon. This exciting role will play a key part in driving the attraction of low carbon businesses to Doncaster and supporting existing businesses to accelerate their decarbonisation plans.

About the Role

The post holder will be responsible for generating major sector-specific enquiries through a proactive and systematic process of lead generation, professional enquiry handling, and working with key partners across central government and within the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a low carbon business growth strategy for Doncaster
  • Work with businesses to accelerate their decarbonisation plans and deliver new investment and job creation
  • Generate major sector-specific enquiries through lead generation and professional enquiry handling
  • Collaborate with key partners across central government and within the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority
Requirements

The post holder should have experience of delivering outcomes related to inward investment and economic development, as well as working with businesses on the sustainability agenda and good working knowledge of the regional and national support mechanisms in relation to investment and business support.

The post holder should also have excellent communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
