Specialist Disability Mentor

Beacon Support Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Disability Mentor to support Higher Education students with disabilities. As a Specialist Disability Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome their disability-related difficulties and achieve their academic goals.
About the Role- Provide one-to-one support to students with disabilities, helping them develop coping strategies and techniques to overcome their challenges.
- Work collaboratively with students, academic staff, and other support services to ensure a comprehensive support package.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the students' needs, adapting your support to meet their individual requirements.
- Contribute to the development of a dynamic and inclusive learning environment, promoting equality and diversity.
- Experience of working with students with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) in higher or further education.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong understanding of disability-related issues and the ability to provide sensitive and effective support.
- Postgraduate qualification in mental health or a related field.
- Membership of a relevant professional body, such as the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP).
- A competitive hourly rate of £30-£40.
