Position Overview

As the Principal Clinician - Genomic Diagnostics , you will play a pivotal role in providing expert guidance within essential workstreams and influencing the broader ecosystem at both national and international levels to enhance participant and patient outcomes.

Role Responsibilities

The primary focus of this position is to collaborate closely with the Genomic Medicine Service, offering advice to the service leadership team and assisting various squads in the planning, development, and implementation of safe, well-researched cancer-related products and services. Your key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Delivering clinical leadership and expertise in the design and execution of our services and programs.
  • Supporting senior executives in their engagements with advisory committees and participant panels.
  • Providing clinical assistance to the service management team, including managing complex discussions with research participants and addressing inquiries, complaints, and clinical incidents.
  • Contributing clinical insights for safety and risk management systems.
  • Representing the organization at national and international conferences, meetings, and working groups.
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to foster partnerships between the organization and NHS colleagues.
  • Advocating for patient and clinician priorities with the Executive Leadership Team and colleagues.
  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders to promote and advocate for organizational initiatives.
  • Leading clinical input in evolving research strategies and developing processes to support research stakeholders.
Candidate Profile

We are seeking a proactive and dynamic clinician with extensive experience in developing cancer pathways within the healthcare system. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in germline cancer genomics and healthcare informatics, coupled with a proven track record in clinical leadership.

Qualifications

A medical degree and CCT in Genetics or an equivalent qualification are required.
