About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Children's Occupational Therapist to join our team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy services to children and young people with a range of needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose children's occupational performance needs, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to promote independence and participation.
  • Work collaboratively with children, young people, families, and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Provide specialist occupational therapy advice, assessment, and interventions to children and young people with complex needs.
  • Supervise and support Occupational Therapy Clinical Support Workers and/or Integrated Therapy Assistants.
  • Mentor and clinically supervise newly qualified Occupational Therapists and Band 4/5 staff as required.
  • Participate in clinical audits and research as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Diploma level specialist training or experience
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Post-graduate certified courses specific to children's needs (Sensory training; ADOS, 3di etc)
  • Membership of professional body (RCOT)
