Department Overview

The Sustainability Energy Coordinator will report to the Head of Compliance and Sustainability, becoming an integral part of the Compliance and Sustainability team. The primary objective of this role is to spearhead the development of the organization's energy strategy, guiding the path to achieving net carbon neutrality and overseeing its execution across the institution and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide high-quality data to support utility management and decarbonization efforts, ensuring the organization maintains its ISO14001 accreditation while minimizing its carbon footprint.
- Oversee the energy performance of facilities, conducting data collection, analysis, and audits.
- Collaborate closely with the maintenance team regarding Building Management Systems (BMS) and supply relevant information to project teams.
- Demonstrate knowledge of estate management practices.

Desired Qualifications

- Experience working with energy brokers to secure utility contracts and manage tendering processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with utility providers, ensuring effective project management.
- Assist in the preparation of utility billing.
- Capable of managing contractors and consultants effectively.
- Report on energy and water usage, budgetary costs, and carbon data.
- Complete necessary reports, including HESA Data submissions.
- Manage the interface between energy management databases and brokers.
- Maintain and enhance systems that provide essential information for internal, statutory, and regulatory reporting.
- Oversee revenue streams from Feed-in Tariff (FIT) installations.

Interpersonal Skills

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in energy management or a related field.
- Proficient in utilizing building management systems.
- Experience in managing revenue budgets.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences.
- Proven project management capabilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
- Willingness to travel to various sites as required.
