An exciting opportunity has arisen within the University Hospital Hairmyres acute stroke service for an Assistant Practitioner to provide ongoing rehabilitation to patients while in hospital and supporting efficient discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities- Working under the supervision of registered therapy staff to assist patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
- Undertaking baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters for the identified service.
- Implementing, adapting, and progressing treatment programmes within agreed protocols and defined parameters.
- Using specialist technical and practical skills to deliver flexible, patient-centred programmes across a variety of clinical settings.
- Discharging or transitioning care within agreed protocols and defined parameters.

What We're Looking For- A motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Practitioner with experience of working within a rehabilitation setting.
- Formal qualification at HNC Level or equivalent level of experience in a health/education/social care environment, plus short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical areas.
- Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.
- Knowledge of the clinical speciality/area process, techniques, and/or activities relevant to the client group.
- Ability to apply a range of technical and practical skills.
- Effective listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Time management, planning, and organisational skills.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
- Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning.
- A minimum of 27 days annual leave increasing with length of service.
