Position Overview

Lead Cloud Security Architect

Focus Areas: Cloud Security, Infrastructure as Code (IAC), Python, Multi-Cloud Environments

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: Hybrid Work Model

Salary Range: £70,000 - £95,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Architect and deploy secure cloud infrastructures across various platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) that align with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Formulate and uphold security protocols, guidelines, and best practices tailored for cloud ecosystems.
  • Develop and oversee Infrastructure as Code (IAC) scripts utilizing tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent technologies.
  • Integrate security measures into IAC workflows to facilitate automated and secure infrastructure provisioning.
  • Incorporate security within the CI/CD pipeline to promote secure software development methodologies.
  • Work collaboratively with DevOps and software development teams to establish and sustain security automation and monitoring solutions.
  • Design and manage cloud security monitoring systems to identify and address security incidents effectively.
  • Perform routine security evaluations, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing on cloud infrastructures.
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
  • Maintain and refresh security documentation, policies, and operational procedures.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers and team members regarding cloud security best practices.
  • Stay informed about emerging security trends, tools, and technologies, sharing insights within the team.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expertise in cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Proficient programming capabilities in Python for automation and scripting tasks.
  • Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) utilizing tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar.
  • Comprehensive understanding of DevSecOps principles and experience with CI/CD methodologies.
  • Familiarity with security technologies including SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and encryption methods.
  • Thorough knowledge of cloud security frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience in conducting security risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability management.
  • Strong grasp of network security, identity and access management, and data protection strategies.
