About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd. As an aspiring Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting children with complex learning, social, and communication difficulties.


The School

Our school provides a safe and nurturing environment for children with a range of special needs, including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties, and Physical Disabilities. We offer a range of therapies, including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, music, and speech and language therapies, as part of a young person's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).


The Children

Our students have varying levels of support needs, including non-verbal communication and personal care requirements. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with our therapy team to ensure the physical and emotional support of our children.


Key Responsibilities
  • Providing assistance and support for children before, during, and after lessons
  • Assisting children to understand and participate in tasks in an appropriate way
  • Encouraging the development of appropriate social skills
  • Maintaining individual student records
  • Helping to build confidence and motivation
  • Participating in team meetings and training programmes
  • Working with managers and employees to support the developing culture of the organisation
  • Following regulations pertaining to safeguarding
  • Supporting individual needs, including assisting with medical and personal care tasks as necessary

We offer a competitive daily rate of £83-£90, flexible working hours, and a range of contract options, including temp-to-perm and short-term contracts. Our school has excellent facilities and on-site equipment, including a therapy pool, sensory rooms, and I-Gaze technology.
