Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Specialist to join our team in providing specialist assessment, support, and treatment for individuals with learning disabilities. The successful candidate will work closely with our multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and support, promoting a positive behavioural approach and empowering individuals to engage in a wide range of activities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist assessment, support, and treatment for individuals with learning disabilities, prioritizing clinical needs and delivering effective care.
- Work with service users to identify goals and develop care plans, using evidence-based best practice and assessment tools.
- Develop and maintain effective communication networks with service users, carers, and other health workers and agencies.
- Contribute to the appraisal of Learning Disability services, identifying areas for development and making recommendations to the Intensive Support team Lead/Operational Manager.
- Participate in clinical training placements for students and contribute to the induction and training of new staff.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, participating in internal and external development opportunities and recording learning outcomes in a portfolio.
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
- Experience of working with individuals with learning disabilities and their families.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with service users, carers, and other health workers and agencies.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, prioritizing clinical needs and delivering effective care.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
