Location: SEN Provision Learning Centre, Herne Hill, Lambeth

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to £540 per week

About the Role

We are seeking a recent graduate with a passion for working with children with special educational needs (SEN) to join our team as a Graduate SEN Student Mentor. As a Graduate SEN Student Mentor, you will work with students who have a range of additional needs, from ages 5-18, and provide support to ensure they have equal opportunities to access education.

You will use your knowledge of complex behaviours to aid students who struggle with ADHD, ASD, SEMH, and anger management disorders. Our school offers enriching training and a supportive environment to help you develop your skills and confidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, including those with ADHD, ASD, SEMH, and anger management disorders
  • Work with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans
  • Assist students with their academic and personal needs, including homework and life skills
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in a related field, such as Psychology, Sociology, or Education
  • Experience working with children with SEN, either in a paid or voluntary capacity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of students with SEN
