Job Title: Construction Cost Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Cost Manager to join our team at Dornan. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring that costs are accurately estimated, tracked, and controlled.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cost management strategies to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
  • Prepare and manage detailed bills of quantities, including labour hours and material costs.
  • Track and analyze project costs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely submission of valuation and agreement of certification.
  • Prepare and submit cash flow forecasts and final accounts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate payment.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in cost management.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a commercial or construction environment.
  • Strong understanding of construction cost management principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
