Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will be a key member of the William Grant & Sons infrastructure operations team, responsible for delivering projects and BAU work, providing 3rd line support for infrastructure and the business. This role requires a strong technical background, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Main Responsibilities
- Work on cross-functional projects delivering improvements and enhancements to the estate, utilizing cloud-based technologies such as Azure.
- Take the lead on projects, ensuring timely delivery, working closely with project managers and cross-functional teams.
- Create and update technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Provide 3rd level support for infrastructure and business-critical issues, taking ownership of incidents and issues from start to finish.
- Upskill and mentor other team members, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in infrastructure and IT, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Collaborate with other teams, providing technical expertise and support as needed.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call and early cover as part of a rotating schedule.
- Work with a range of technologies, including Azure, VMWare, Veeam, Zerto, Beyond Trust, Nimble, and StoreOnce Storage.
Requirements
- Strong technical background in cloud infrastructure and IT operations.
- Experience with Azure and other cloud-based technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Ability to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends.
