Position Overview:

Orion Group is seeking a dedicated People Advisor to join our team. This role is designed to enhance the employee experience and provide comprehensive HR support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture strong, customer-centric relationships with staff and management, ensuring a prompt and precise HR service.
  • Manage daily HR inquiries and requests through the HR communication channels to maintain an efficient and accessible process.
  • Collaborate with the HR Operations team to address internal and external HR-related queries, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including interview coordination, offer management, and onboarding to promote a positive candidate journey.
  • Organize career events and oversee outreach initiatives, including internship programs and partnerships with educational institutions.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of new employees, ensuring they are well-informed about benefits, policies, and procedures to help them integrate smoothly into the organization.
  • With guidance from People Partners, address and resolve straightforward employee relations matters, such as grievances and performance issues.
  • Conduct thorough and objective investigations, supporting People Partners with more complex cases and providing regular updates on case management.
  • Assist in managing the sickness absence process, coordinating with affected employees, occupational health, managers, and the HR team to ensure a considerate approach.
  • Engage in project roles related to the development and implementation of broader organizational and HR initiatives.
  • Support various projects and initiatives, including annual compensation reviews, succession planning, and performance evaluations.
  • Act as the HR coordinator for organizational change management.
  • Collaborate with the HR team and management on performance management and employee development strategies.
  • Participate in monthly vacancy reviews to ensure the accuracy of job positions and recruitment metrics.
  • Coordinate with external partners to ensure compliance with work permits and residency requirements.
  • Work alongside the HR team to contribute to the annual planning and headcount forecasting processes.
  • Continuously seek and implement more effective methods for delivering HR solutions.
  • Proactively collaborate with the HR Operations team to provide robust support to the business and the wider HR team.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of relevant HR regulations and company policies.
  • Developing knowledge of HR functions and their impact on organizational success.
  • Ability to contextualize business challenges and devise people solutions accordingly.
  • Emerging skills in questioning, coaching, and influencing.
  • Commitment to staying informed about HR industry developments.
  • Degree in a relevant field.
  • CIPD certification or progress towards it.
  • Experience in HR generalist or specialist roles.
  • Proven relationship-building and advisory skills in HR.
  • Experience in supporting HR projects.
  • Demonstrated alignment with the company's values and behaviors.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying information clearly and influencing change.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within teams and across the organization.
  • Effective networking skills, creating a positive impression on stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead discussions on critical issues and influence decision-making.
