Railway Maintenance Specialist

Colas Rail UK is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious OTM Fitter/Operator to join our team. As a key member of our grinding operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our grinding machines.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate and maintain grinding machines in accordance with Colas Rail's safety procedures and guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of grinding operations, including machine setup and pack away.
- Collate data output from machines and report any defects or issues to the Grinding or Maintenance Supervisor.
- Contribute to the maintenance of quality systems, machine safety packs, and stabling database.
- Undertake other duties as required, including COSS duties and daily maintenance tasks.
- Recognised formal apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
- Core competencies in Foundation Course, Machine Setup, and Pack away for Operation Grinding Railgrinding maintainer for Operations/Maintenance competence matrix.
- Driving Licence, PTS, Fire Training, Emergency First Aid, Depot/Yard Inductions, and Basic Laser Safety.
- Full PPE as required by GO/RT 3279 and Respiratory Protection Equipment as designated by Colas Rail.
