About the Role:

As a Theatre Practitioner, you will be responsible for assisting surgeons and anaesthetists during surgical procedures, preparing patients for theatre, and providing post-operative care. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during surgical procedures
  • Prepare patients for theatre, including positioning and preparing them for clinical/operative procedures
  • Provide immediate post-operative care to patients
  • Take charge of the clinical area in the absence of an advanced practitioner, ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, and staff
  • Participate fully as a team member, including working in all areas of the theatre suite, sharing knowledge and information, and supporting colleagues
  • Help to control cross-infection by observing departmental policy regarding dress, the maintenance of a clean working environment, decontamination and sterilisation procedures, and asepsis
Requirements:
  • Relevant ODP/Anaesthetic Nurse qualification (HCPC/ADULT RGN)
  • Post-registration experience within Anaesthetics
  • Ability to deliver high standards of care
