Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly qualified and certified Vestas Wind Turbine Technician to join our team for offshore wind farm projects. The successful candidate will be tasked with the installation, commissioning, and completion of Vestas wind turbines in a demanding offshore setting. This position demands technical proficiency, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to perform under challenging conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Turbine Installation and Commissioning:

  • Carry out the installation and commissioning of Vestas wind turbines in accordance with technical specifications and project requirements.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic operations to ensure optimal turbine functionality.
  • Conduct system tests and troubleshooting to identify and rectify issues during the commissioning process.


Offshore Operations:

  • Engage in offshore platform and vessel operations to complete turbine installations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures specific to offshore work.
  • Collaborate with the offshore team to ensure efficient task execution and resource utilization.


Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Execute routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on operational turbines.
  • Identify and replace defective components to maintain optimal turbine performance.
  • Document maintenance activities and turbine conditions meticulously.


Safety and Compliance:

  • Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Participate in safety drills and emergency response training.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and Vestas guidelines.


Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all tasks performed.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, turbine performance, and any encountered issues.
  • Utilize Vestas software and tools for data management and reporting.


Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with fellow technicians, engineers, and project managers to achieve project objectives.
  • Offer technical support and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Communicate effectively with both onshore and offshore teams to coordinate activities.


Qualifications:

  • Vestas Wind Turbine Technician certification is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in wind turbine installation, commissioning, and maintenance, particularly in offshore settings.
  • Strong technical understanding of Vestas wind turbine systems and components.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Valid GWO certifications, including Working at Heights, Sea Survival, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, and First Aid.
  • Offshore Medical and Survival certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations related to offshore wind operations.
  • Ability to adapt to challenging offshore conditions and changing environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Familiarity with Vestas software and diagnostic tools.
