Position Summary:
We are in search of a highly qualified and certified Vestas Wind Turbine Technician to join our team for offshore wind farm completions. The successful candidate will be tasked with the installation, commissioning, and completion of Vestas wind turbines in a demanding offshore setting. This role necessitates technical proficiency, a strong commitment to safety, and the capability to operate under challenging conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Turbine Installation and Commissioning:

  • Carry out the installation and commissioning of Vestas wind turbines in accordance with technical specifications and project requirements.
  • Execute mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic tasks to ensure turbines operate effectively.
  • Perform system tests and troubleshooting to identify and rectify issues during the commissioning process.


Offshore Operations:

  • Engage in operations on offshore platforms and vessels to complete turbine installations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures specific to offshore work.
  • Collaborate with the offshore team to ensure efficient task execution and resource utilization.


Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Conduct regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs on installed turbines.
  • Identify and replace defective components to maintain optimal turbine performance.
  • Document maintenance activities and turbine conditions meticulously.


Safety and Compliance:

  • Comply with all health, safety, and environmental policies to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Participate in safety drills and emergency response training.
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations and Vestas standards.


Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain precise and comprehensive records of all work performed.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, turbine performance, and any encountered issues.
  • Utilize Vestas software and tools for data entry and reporting.


Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with fellow technicians, engineers, and project managers to achieve project objectives.
  • Offer technical support and mentorship to less experienced team members.
  • Communicate effectively with both onshore and offshore teams to coordinate activities.


Qualifications:

  • Mandatory Vestas Authorised Technician certification.
  • Demonstrated experience in wind turbine installation, commissioning, and maintenance, preferably in offshore settings.
  • Strong technical understanding of Vestas wind turbine systems and components.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Valid GWO certifications, including Working at Heights, Sea Survival, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, and First Aid.
  • Offshore Medical and Survival certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
  • Thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations related to offshore wind operations.
  • Able to work in challenging offshore conditions and adapt to changing environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Proficient in using Vestas software and diagnostic tools.
