Job Title: Short Breaks Officer

21 HSC is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Short Breaks Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in supporting unpaid carers in North Ayrshire to access much-needed breaks from their caring responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop the Carers Gateway Short Break programme, ensuring effective oversight of Shared Care Scotland and other funding.
  • Raise the profile of short breaks, particularly among hard-to-reach groups of carers, and expand understanding of what constitutes a short break.
  • Oversee the digital application process and provide assistance to carers as needed.
  • Lead the assessment panel, plan meeting dates, and ensure all panel members have access to necessary information prior to meetings.
  • Ensure timely disbursement of funds to carers while adhering to internal processes.
  • Manage the Short Breaks budget, ensuring carers return receipts for accurate audit trails.
  • Collaborate with the Admin & Evaluation Officer to collect data from the short breaks programme, supporting future planning, monitoring, and reporting.

Requirements:

  • Essential to have a standard grade General Level or equivalent in a minimum of four subjects, including English.
  • Experience in overseeing large projects is essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential.
  • Experience in managing a budget is desirable.
  • Driving Licence is desirable.
