Job Title: Substance Misuse Specialist Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Substance Misuse Specialist Nurse to join our team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Alcohol and Substance Care Team, providing expert care and treatment for patients with alcohol and drug misuse.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients with alcohol and substance misuse issues, developing individualized care plans to address their physical and mental health needs.
  • Advise clinical staff on the management of patients experiencing acute alcohol and substance misuse withdrawal, including detoxification medication and vitamin prescribing.
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients with complex needs.
  • Screen patients for alcohol-related health and social problems, providing interventions and referrals as necessary.
  • Undertake individual case management to provide ongoing support to patients who require it.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse with experience working in substance misuse.
  • Acute hospital experience.
