Power Plant Operator

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Plant Operator to join our Operations team at Lynemouth Power Station. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a high-pressure boiler and the 140Mwe Turbo Alternator Unit.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Excellence: Work as part of a shift team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the generating units, adhering to strict safety protocols and procedures.
- Plant Maintenance: Undertake routine plant changeovers, identify defects and potentially unsafe conditions, and record any issues in the Maintenance Management system.
- Performance Monitoring: Gather, analyze, and interpret plant performance data, implementing changes to improve operational efficiency with the assistance of the Power Plant Controller(s) as required.
- Standard Operational Duties: Perform standard operational duties in one of the three roles: Unit Operator, General Duties Operator, or Ash Plant Operator.
- Isolation and Safety: Remove plant from service and assist in the isolating of plant in readiness for the issue of safety documents.
- Background: Experience/knowledge of safe systems of work, including permit to work, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Experience: Experience working in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure and working to tight timescales, preferably in heavy industrial or engineering environments, such as power generation.
- Skills and Knowledge: Excellent team worker, personal commitment to the highest standards of safety, self-motivated individual, critical thinker, and good verbal communication skills.
- Qualifications: 5 GCSE's or equivalent, including Maths and English at Level 4/grade C (essential), Level 3 qualification in Maths, Science, Design & Technology, or similar relevant subject (essential), and HNC (level 4) in Engineering or similar relevant subject (desirable).
