About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Head of Planning and Strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a forward-thinking Integrated Care Board, collaborating with key partners across a large Integrated Care System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement robust financial plans, ensuring accurate reporting of in-year variances.
  • Assist in the delivery of the efficiency agenda, liaising with finance and non-finance professionals within the organisation and the wider system.
  • Coordinate the production of short and medium-term financial plans for the ICB and the wider system.
  • Produce monthly reporting packs for the system Finance and Performance Committee, highlighting variances from the system plan and planned mitigations.
  • Work on multi-disciplinary working groups across the system, as part of the system transformation efficiency programme and collaborative working models.
  • Manage a small team of staff in the management of the acute portfolio of budgets.

Requirements
  • Qualified Accountant with demonstrable CPD.
  • Highly developed communication skills.
  • Evidence of monthly reporting in a complex organisation or system.
  • Evidence of experience of and/or understanding of planning requirements in a complex organisation/system.
  • Time Management and managing competing priorities.
  • Staff Management experience both direct and indirect.
  • Highly developed Excel, Word, and PowerPoint experience.
  • Evidence of collaborative working across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple organisations.
  • Understanding of EDI and evidence of personal impact in those areas.
  • Understanding of the NHS financial environment and the role of the ICB within that.
