Payroll Lead Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Lead to join our team at Simpson Judge Ltd. As a key member of our payroll operations team, you will be responsible for delivering an accurate and reliable payroll service to all employees across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • SLA/KPI Management: Ensure that all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are consistently met.
  • Payroll Provider Management: Actively lead the delivery of payroll services with our external payroll providers.
  • Payroll Team Support: Support and coach the payroll team to ensure they are cross-functional and able to support all aspects of the employee life cycle service.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and deliver continuous improvement in payroll and employee HR data processes, including increased automation of payroll data collection, collation, and submission to the external payroll provider.
  • Escalation and Expertise: Act as a point of escalation and subject matter expert for any payroll-related issues that require review, guidance, or problem resolution.
  • Compliance and Performance: Provide insight and performance data relating to compliance processes and payroll performance.
  • Finance and Accounting Liaison: Liaise with colleagues in finance and accounting to provide a robust and audited payroll and assist in SOX reviews.
Requirements:
  • HR/Payroll Experience: Experience of working in a HR/Payroll Operations environment.
  • Third-Party Payroll Experience: Experience of working with and driving performance with third-party payroll service providers.
  • Technical Skills: Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Delivery and Coaching: Ability to demonstrate strong delivery against performance targets and experience in coaching individuals for high performance.
  • HRMS and Payroll Software: Experience with HRMS and payroll-related software.
