Job Summary

Murphy is seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our award-winning team. As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will play a key role in implementing and promoting best practices in environmental and sustainability matters within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and promote best practices in environmental and sustainability matters in conjunction with the SHES function.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and statutory provisions.
  • Investigate incidents and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collect and submit environmental and sustainability statistics to the SHES Management and SHES function.
  • Review SHES information to identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop and implement SHES campaigns and improvement plans.
  • Provide advice and support to project teams on environmental and sustainability responsibilities.
  • Identify significant SHES issues for contracts and yards, and help set up contracts and yards to include appropriate controls.
  • Maintain records to ensure compliance with legislation, company procedures, and contract requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience in an environmental advisory role.
  • Qualified with an environmental degree.
  • Working knowledge of environmental law in the construction industry.
  • Construction/infrastructure experience.
  • Working towards IEMA is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the ISO 9001, 14001, and BS OHSAS 18001 standards.
