Position Summary:
As a Laboratory Scientist, you will play a crucial role in executing specific laboratory analyses on raw materials and current products. You will also provide essential support for research and development initiatives as required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engage in safety protocols and remain informed about company, industry, and governmental safety standards and regulations.
2. Conduct industry-specific and company-specific laboratory analyses following established methodologies.
3. Assist in the creation and refinement of testing procedures and plan for testing and additive blending.
4. Evaluate test outcomes, compile reports, memos, and presentations, and input data into databases. Communicate findings within agreed timelines.
5. Operate specialized testing apparatus in accordance with established protocols. Ensure the accuracy and reproducibility of tests while maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment.
6. Procure and manage inventory of samples and laboratory supplies. Maintain a tidy, clean, and safe work environment.
7. Blend components, formulate new mixtures, or adjust existing ones to achieve desired objectives. Assess various blends and base stocks to ascertain properties.
8. Uphold ISO documentation for all related activities, participate in ISO initiatives, and stay informed about ISO functions.
Qualifications:
- A degree in a chemistry-related field (e.g., chemistry, forensic science, biochemistry).
- Previous experience in an analytical testing laboratory is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in using Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- An organized individual with effective teamwork and communication skills.
- A keen attention to detail and appreciation for precision.
