Job Title: Transport Planner

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transport Planner to join our team at Great Bear. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day planning of our transport operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate the movement of goods and materials across multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites.
  • Manage daily workload for a fleet of vehicles, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve queries and issues.
  • Liaise with Traffic and Administration teams to maintain high standards of performance.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets and databases for customer reports and analysis.
  • Identify and report problems, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Support the fleet and driver training team as required.
  • Conduct pre- and post-debriefs for driver shifts.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in transport planning, with a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, making decisions quickly and effectively.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working, with a willingness to meet business needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work at all levels within the business.
  • Ability to identify and suggest improvements to benefit the company and our customers.
  • Highly motivated individual, able to work independently and as part of a team.
