The sequencing platform developed by Oxford Nanopore is distinguished by its capability for real-time analysis in versatile formats, addressing needs from individual to population-level sequencing. This technology is adept at analyzing native DNA or RNA and sequencing fragments of any length.

Position Summary...

The Technical Product Management division at Oxford Nanopore Technologies is responsible for the development and introduction of new products, including sequencing kits, devices, and software solutions. This specific role focuses on software product management. The successful candidate will serve as an Agile Product Owner for a team dedicated to the analysis software, EPI2ME, which provides both cloud-based and local analysis solutions for Nanopore sequencing data.

The Technical Product Manager will oversee Agile sprints, gather requirements, and facilitate communication with developers. Additionally, they will collect customer insights, collaborate with senior product managers and the UX team, and contribute to the overall product strategy.

  • Collaborate with UX, product management, and technical support to create innovative analysis workflows and software solutions.
  • Engage with senior product managers to shape the product roadmap.
  • Manage Agile processes, including requirements gathering, troubleshooting, and conducting scrum ceremonies.
  • Translate customer feedback into actionable product requirements.
  • Assist sales and marketing teams with product updates.
  • Ensure adherence to release timelines and manage associated activities.
  • Provide updates on product and team progress for internal stakeholders.
  • Occasional travel to conferences and events may be required, up to 10%.

Qualifications We Seek...

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, hard sciences, or computer science is preferred.
  • A quick learner with a strong interest in exploring nanopore sequencing.
  • 1-2 years of experience in software product management within an Agile framework.
  • Experience in the biotechnology sector is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with DNA sequencing analysis is preferred.
  • Proficient in using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communicator, capable of bridging gaps between teams and customers.
  • Adaptable to fast-paced environments with changing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and team management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities.
