Port of Blyth operates as a significant division under the Blyth Harbour Commission, a self-governing statutory trust founded in 1882.
As one of the largest Trust Ports in the UK, it manages cargo across four terminals situated along the River Blyth.
In addition to its major logistics and training sectors, the Port group boasts a growing turnover that exceeds £31 million, primarily fueled by expansion in various industries, particularly offshore energy. The Port has established itself as a crucial strategic base on the east coast, supporting this vital sector.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include overseeing our stevedoring operations during the loading and unloading of vessels, as well as managing general activities within the port's warehousing facilities.
It is essential that you demonstrate the capability to keep your team motivated, focused, and performing at the highest standards.
The successful candidate is expected to integrate into our adaptable workforce and gain knowledge across various operational areas to support the business as needed.
Requirements- Experience with heavy lifting operations and working at heights is preferred.
- Flexibility is necessary as the Port operates seven days a week, including night shifts and public holidays.
- A full driving license is mandatory due to our operations spanning five locations.
We offer a competitive remuneration package:
- Starting salary of £30,000, increasing to £33,000 post-training for a 37.5-hour work week.
