Job Title: Advanced Healthcare Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Healthcare Practitioner to join our team at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care within the community, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver acute care services. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide acute assessment, intervention, and medical management plans for patients in their own homes.
  • Prioritize health problems and intervene appropriately in complex, urgent, and emergency situations.
  • Assess patients with mental health needs and develop effective care plans.
  • Manage staff performance, training, and supervision of trainee Advanced Healthcare Practitioners.
  • Develop and contribute to local guidelines and protocols.
Requirements
  • Clinical Based Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent.
  • Registered Independent Non-Medical Prescriber.
  • Teaching, supervision, and assessment skills.
  • Leadership qualification.
  • Up-to-date Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
  • Substantial post-registration experience in Emergency/Acute/General Medicine Care at a senior level.
Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrates specialist clinical expertise underpinned by theory acquired through Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Effective communicator able to deliver complex and sensitive information.
Personal Qualities
  • Ability to manage being exposed to distressing circumstances.
  • Reflective practitioner with an interest in the research process.
