We are collaborating with a dynamic organization seeking to fill a pivotal role as an NPI (New Product Introduction) Supervisor. This position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee all aspects of new product introduction initiatives, guiding projects from initial customer inquiries to full-scale production readiness.
In this role, you will lead a dedicated team while managing multiple projects concurrently, often under tight timelines. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, with a strong ability to interpret technical drawings and engage directly with clients and projects. This position offers a diverse range of responsibilities, allowing you to significantly influence processes, enhancements, and client interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate product and tooling cost estimates based on customer inquiries to support timely quotations.
- Oversee the NPI team to ensure departmental tasks are executed efficiently and systematically.
- Analyze technical drawings submitted by clients and collaborate with the team to develop manufacturing solutions.
- Engage with external designers as needed to secure fixture designs for manufacturing.
- Take overall responsibility for ISIR and PPAP documentation and submissions.
- Collaborate with the operations director to ensure new products are designed for efficient manufacturing in full production.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives alongside the operations director, identifying optimization opportunities and refining processes.
- Conduct weekly NPI meetings to keep all key stakeholders informed about project statuses.
- Regularly report to the board on NPI project progress and proactively communicate any potential deadline risks to facilitate timely recovery actions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in NPI within a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a small team.
- Familiarity with ISIR and PPAP processes is advantageous, though training will be provided.
- Proficient in discussing technical matters in a professional context.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings effectively.
- Experience in costing and estimating.
- Computer literacy is essential.
- Background in project management is preferred.
