With a commitment to providing quality, safe, and affordable housing that lays strong foundations for our clients, our Asset & Property Services team plays a vital role in advancing the reinvestment program for our housing assets, facilitating enhancements to the homes of our clients.

As a Property Condition Assessment Specialist at Longhurst Group, you will conduct evaluations of our housing assets to generate stock condition reports, subsequently analyzing performance, quality, and safety.

Ensuring that our clients have confidence in the process of identifying risks and investment opportunities in their homes, you will also supply the organization with the necessary data for efficient operations.


Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Accurately and efficiently gather data to enable Longhurst Group to meet regulatory and legislative asset requirements, including condition, performance, safety, and energy data.
2. Identify and report on building defects (including regulatory and legislative concerns), collaborating with internal and external teams to resolve issues.
3. Conduct Decent Homes / HHSRS (Housing Health & Safety Rating System) assessments as part of your evaluations.
4. Continuously enhance the quality of our data.
5. Organize and plan your schedule to ensure optimal use of time and productivity.

Deliver an effective, customer-focused service that reflects the highest service standards, ensuring all inquiries are addressed professionally and promptly.


To be successful in applying for the Property Condition Assessment Specialist role, you should possess knowledge of building regulations and practices, with prior experience in inspecting homes and assessing their lifespan and quality, and/or building control.

Proficiency in IT skills is also essential.

The Property Condition Assessment Specialist role operates in a hybrid capacity, contracted to 36.25 hours per week. This involves spending time with our clients across our West region, which spans from Staffordshire to the East Midlands, along with some remote work (subject to business needs - we are open to discussions regarding how this is structured within working weeks).

A significant portion of our Asset & Property Services team also works in a hybrid manner, convening in the Peterborough office on a bi-weekly basis for collaboration.

This role currently attracts a non-contractual car allowance according to our Driving at Work Policy. This is currently set at £2,600 per annum, however, eligibility for the allowance and the rate of the allowance is reviewed annually and any changes will be communicated to you.
