Mental Health Nurse Specialist

About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our dynamic mental health team in Cumbria. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality care and support to individuals with various mental health conditions, promoting recovery, independence, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver patient-centered care in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans tailored to each patient's unique mental health needs
- Administer medications and therapeutic interventions, monitoring for side effects and patient response
- Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families, offering guidance and education on mental health conditions
- Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and ensure all interventions are safe, appropriate, and in line with best practices
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and other mental health support programs aimed at promoting well-being and resilience
- Maintain accurate patient records, documenting care and progress in accordance with professional standards
- Promote recovery-focused approaches, encouraging patients to actively engage in their treatment and care plans
- Provide crisis intervention and manage mental health emergencies in both inpatient and community settings
- Ensure adherence to mental health legislation, safeguarding policies, and NHS standards
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC Pin
- Experience in mental health nursing, ideally within inpatient, outpatient, or community settings
- Knowledge of mental health legislation and the Mental Health Act
- Experience in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and managing challenging behaviours (preferred)
