Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Associate to facilitate teaching and support student learning through effective educational methodologies aimed at enhancing academic success and fostering a positive educational environment. The Teaching Associate should possess a comprehensive understanding of fundamental Psychology disciplines. Key responsibilities include delivering both live and recorded instructional sessions, aiding in student engagement activities, and collaborating with fellow educators to ensure high-quality teaching within their assigned areas.

This role is intended to cover for maternity leave for a maximum duration of 12 months. Should the current post-holder return earlier than anticipated, the contract will conclude accordingly.

Candidate Profile

The successful applicant will play a vital role in delivering exceptional education by:

  • Instructing, assessing, and evaluating student performance
  • Overseeing student support and providing constructive feedback
  • Engaging in module assessment and evaluation processes
  • Managing relevant administrative responsibilities associated with the module or program

Applicants are expected to hold a postgraduate qualification in Psychology or a related discipline, along with relevant professional credentials or equivalent experience.

The School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences is a vibrant academic unit that encourages interdisciplinary research. The Department of Biological and Experimental Psychology, established in 2008, comprises 33 permanent faculty members, focusing on a contemporary interdisciplinary approach that bridges behavioral and biological Psychology.
