Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled midwife to join our team as a Clinical Risk Governance and Audit Midwife. The successful candidate will work closely with our clinicians, managers, and service users to ensure a robust approach to monitoring and improving patient safety, clinical effectiveness, patient experience, and risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day governance activity, including guideline development, clinical audit, review of clinical incidents, and working with clinicians to identify lessons learned.
  • Support the Risk and Governance Manager in all aspects of clinical governance.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure a collaborative approach to clinical governance.
  • Develop and implement effective clinical governance strategies to improve patient safety and clinical effectiveness.
  • Conduct clinical audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to improve patient care.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical post-registration experience in nursing/midwifery.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and experience of clinical audit, guideline development, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinicians, managers, and service users.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify problems, and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and support staff in difficult circumstances.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with current NMC registration and demonstrable CPD.
