About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Leader to join our Engineering & Nuclear Analysis Teams at EDF Nuclear Services. As a Group Leader, you will play a critical role in leading a team of technical staff and contractors, focusing on their personal development and competencies, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality work that meets safety, quality, time, and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of technical staff and contractors, prioritizing work, scaling it based on risk, and agreeing on priorities with clients.
  • Deliver agreed-upon work to meet safety, quality, time, and cost objectives, leveraging resources within your group, the wider branch, and the supply chain.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with clients and stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and provide support to your team in resolving escalated issues.
  • Support branch managers in setting and achieving the branch's strategic objectives, including the development of long-term capability plans.
Requirements
  • Degree in an appropriate engineering or science discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to manage change in an evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to quickly understand a wide range of technical issues and make robust decisions.
  • Ability to deliver and make project or strategy recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Ability to motivate teams to perform to a high level.
  • The ability to ensure that risks are maintained As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
  • Knowledge of the Nuclear Plant design under construction, in operation, or defueling within the UK is desirable.
  • Knowledge of UK-specific legislative requirements including Nuclear Site Licence Conditions is desirable.
