About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our Learning Disability Services as an Adult Social Care Policy Lead. This is a critical role that requires expertise in caring for individuals with learning disabilities and a strong understanding of national policies and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide expert advice and support to the organization on matters related to learning disabilities.
  2. Lead and champion the needs of individuals with learning disabilities across the Northern Care Alliance.
  3. Provide effective leadership to multi-agency professional teams and influence practice to enhance service delivery.
  4. Support activities to ensure the organization meets its responsibilities regarding learning disabilities.
  5. Collaborate with professionals to deliver a whole systems approach for identifying and treating patients with learning disabilities.
  6. Provide evidence-based knowledge and leadership on issues affecting the health and wellbeing of individuals with learning disabilities.

Requirements
  • Registered Learning Disability Nurse or relevant first-level professional qualification in AHP/Social Work.
  • Relevant post-registration experience and/or evidence of formal training at postgraduate diploma level.
  • Leadership and Management module or working towards qualification.
  • Significant experience in a senior clinical position (Band 7 or above) within learning disability services.
  • Significant post-registration experience related to caring for people with learning disabilities.
  • Evidence of current knowledge of local and national policies relating to adults and children with learning disabilities.
