About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our Learning Disability Services as an Adult Social Care Policy Lead. This is a key role within our organization, requiring a strong understanding of national and local policies, as well as expertise in managing and supporting patients with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide expert advice and support to our teams on matters related to adults, children, and young people with learning disabilities.
  2. Lead and champion the needs of individuals with learning disabilities across our organization.
  3. Provide effective leadership to our multi-agency professional teams and influence practice to enhance service delivery.
  4. Support activities to ensure our organization meets its responsibilities regarding adults, children, and young people with learning disabilities.
  5. Collaborate with professionals to deliver a whole systems approach for identifying and treating patients with learning disabilities using our services.
  6. Provide evidence-based knowledge and leadership on issues affecting the health and wellbeing of individuals with learning disabilities in acute and community settings.

Requirements
  • Registered Learning Disability Nurse or relevant first-level professional qualification in AHP/Social Work.
  • Relevant post-registration experience and/or evidence of formal training at postgraduate diploma level.
  • Leadership and Management module or working towards qualification.
  • Significant experience in a senior clinical position (Band 7 or above) within learning disability services.
  • Significant post-registration experience related to caring for people with learning disabilities.
  • Evidence of current knowledge of local and national policies relating to adults and children with learning disabilities.
