Job Title: Senior Solicitor - Data Protection

KPMG is a leading global network of professional services firms that provides Audit, Tax & Legal, Consulting, Deal Advisory, and Technology services. Our team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Solicitor to join our Data Protection team in our Commercial Legal department.

About the Role:

We are looking for a seasoned data protection lawyer with a minimum of 7 years of PQE to support the growth of our Data Protection team. The successful candidate will have experience in advising clients on compliance with data protection laws, including the rules around marketing. They will also have expertise in complex data protection compliance issues, reporting on GDPR/DPA compliance, and drafting information notices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting clients in developing data protection strategies
  • Advising clients on cross-border data transfers
  • Supporting clients with data protection elements of their transformation programs
  • Advising on data ethics
  • Liaising with the ICO on behalf of clients who have received complaints from data subjects
Requirements:
  • Minimum 7 years of PQE in data protection/commercial law
  • Experience in advising clients on compliance with data protection laws
  • Expertise in complex data protection compliance issues
  • Strong client relationship and business development skills
