Position Overview:

The role of the Industrial Chemistry Technician encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in plating processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with plating specialists to maintain the integrity of Chrome, Nickel, and Cadmium coatings.
  • Oversee the quality of chromate treatments, chemical films, passivation, and nital etching.
  • Develop and refine the Internal Quality System and Laboratory Management System.
  • Assist in the analysis of Chrome, Nickel, and Cadmium solutions as needed.
  • Support physical testing on test samples in accordance with specifications, including Hydrogen Detection Instrument tests.
  • Evaluate and enhance existing processes to boost overall quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while minimizing waste.
  • Monitor and sample effluent waste, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Manage inventory of supplies necessary for bath testing.
  • Establish a quality audit program to ensure adherence to maintenance protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, with experience in Chemistry and Plating Techniques.
  • Proficient in laboratory techniques, with a solid understanding of plating solutions.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Health and Safety regulations and the management of hazardous materials.
  • Knowledge of COMAH regulations is a plus.
  • A collaborative team player with leadership capabilities.
  • Flexibility in work hours is essential to accommodate project needs.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK without restrictions.
  • Completion of mandatory training is required.
