Job Title: NHS Specialist Nurse - Neurosurgical Expert

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled NHS Specialist Nurse to join our dynamic team of adult neurosurgical specialist nurses. The successful candidate will have a strong background in neurosurgery and a keen interest in supporting patients' journeys with neurovascular conditions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assess, develop, and implement specialist nursing care programs for patients with neurovascular conditions.
  • Provide expert nursing advice and support to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Work closely with consultant neurosurgeons and allied health care professionals to improve patient outcomes.
  • Participate in research projects and present at multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based care programs to improve patient care.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse educated to degree level or willingness to undertake.
  • Post-registration qualification in specialty.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Advanced communication skills/counselling qualification or willingness to undertake.
  • Advanced clinical assessment.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Research module.
  • Masters degree.

Desirable Experience:

  • Significant relevant experience in the specialty and ability to demonstrate expert nursing skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • To act in a professional manner at all times in accordance with NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Capable of developing liaisons with other practice areas/academic institutions.
