About the Role

We are seeking an experienced R&D Team Leader to join our team at Science Solutions Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating product development activities, including planning and managing R&D projects to meet project goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead and coordinate product development activities, including planning and managing R&D projects to meet project goals.
  • Technical Expertise: Generate test data for development products and work with the Product Engineering Manager to enhance performance in line with technical standards.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve R&D practices and processes to align with project and company objectives.
  • Supplier Management: Meet with raw material suppliers to discuss requirements and innovations.
  • Team Development: Provide training and development opportunities for team members, fostering a skilled and knowledgeable team.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with technical and operational staff to ensure smooth project execution and alignment on goals.
  • Reporting: Prepare periodic reports for the R&D Technical Director, outlining project progress, challenges, and achievements.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree educated in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of polymers, radical polymerisation processes, and adhesive products.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to propose technical solutions within projects with minimal supervision.
  • Project Management: Proficiency in project management, including planning and managing the work of self and direct reports.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with laboratory safety standards, including COSHH and Risk assessments, GHS, and REACH regulations.
  • Analytical Skills: Capable of designing and analysing experiments using statistical techniques.
